When he sees me with a camera he says "Take a picture of me!" And now he's got this weird smile thing going on for the past several months. His smile looks more like a grimace, or like he's trying to be mean. I tell him to just relax his face and smile, but he tries too hard!

Nostalgia ....

I have a small bin holding a selection of my childhood toys. I have no idea why I kept the bag of these particular toys, maybe because they were small and didn't take up a lot of space. I know they weren't my absolute favorite toys to play with, but I still have them.

I opened the bin the other day for Lucas and Kayla. It brought a smile to my face to see my old 'friends' the Care Bears and Cabbage Patch Kids!

I was trying to get a picture of Kayla coming off the school bus from her first day back to school after the winter/Christmas break. She ran up the driveway so fast I hardly had time to focus and snap this picture. She was so excited to show me what she got from the treasure box from drama class. She had a great first day back to school.

Jan 1st. Our first time participating in Dunleavy's Pub Polar Bear Plunge benefiting the SC Special Olympics. While we didn't exactly 'plunge' in the ocean, we did get our feet wet. Kayla would've done more than that if we had let her! She didn't want to get out of the water, but the water was a pretty cool 57 degrees.

It was a beautiful Charleston, SC day and we're looking forward to participating again next year!
